Putney has a history of independent voices. We want to celebrate the independent businesses carrying that spirit forward today — giving local independents greater visibility and a stronger collective voice.

Our businesses already bring character, skills and everyday value to Putney. By introducing people to one another’s businesses, we can help that value reach further.
Indie Putney begins with businesses around Upper Richmond Road. The invitation extends to eligible independents across Putney, including those outside the BID levy area.
We are starting simply: a shared identity, useful business introductions and our first activity alongside the Ice Sculpture Trail. Each business keeps its own voice.
How we work
Led by independents.
The initiative is led by independent businesses. Participation is voluntary, with no membership charge during the pilot.
Light-touch support from Positively Putney is agreed in principle. The initiative is not owned or funded by PP.
The pilot group will review QR scans by placement, clicks through to businesses and a short trader survey to decide what is useful enough to continue.
